Market Report 27 January 2026

Written on the 6 February 2026

The extreme heat is hitting the supply chain long before produce reaches the end user. Growers are battling sun?scorch, reduced yields, and unpredictable harvest windows, which means we’re receiving smaller volumes and more heat?affected stock than usual. Even the fruit and veg that make it through often have a shorter shelf life because the plants have been under so much stress.

For us, that translates into tighter availability, more variability in quality, and rising costs across key lines. We’re working closely with growers to secure what we can, but the heat is reshaping the market in real time and everyone down the chain is impacted to some extent.
